Hi Karstin. There are a lot of places shaking things up and moving away from the local palate. Try Direkte Boqueria, Santa Gula or Gula Bar, Hetta, Fismuler to name a few.

The last time I was in BCN for 10 days I was disappointed in the sameness and relatively blandness of most of the tapas places where I ate lunch and dinner. In fact it was only yesterday I was looking at photos i´d taken of the lady in the window hand crafting those dumplings. It`s nice to know they had a plan and didn´t disappear into the abyss.
