That is a relief. I take it that the counter restaurant at the old market did not move over. That is a pity, as it was great fun and quick, although I wondered about food safety from time to time. So let the Boqueria be the Boqueria and our neighborhood be itself. There are enough great little places around.
If I may make a suggestion, check out Lo de Flor. Flor, herself, is a moving force, and the food is exceptional level. Let her lead you. It´s about four doors from me, but I was introduced to the flat.
Yes, Berlin is great. The Raval is a challenge but exciting. San Francisco is still home. Thanks for the response.

Hi Jo,
How nice to live between Berlin, Barcelona and San Francisco!
The Mercat Sant Antoni has 2-3 places but they were offering basic fare from what I saw. I don't think it will turn into the Boqueria, it really is things that locals would buy, lots of poultry, meat, fish, and vegetables. Not a fruit pot in sight.

Suzy..I enjoyed your Berlin restaurants and have followed you there. I live between Berlin and the Raval, when I don't have to be in San Francisco, where I worked with restaurants.
I very much appreciate your sentiment on the policies of Dos Prebots. I haven't eater then, having been warned by my daughter in law that it was a little pretentious and followed the herd philosophy of chef involvement.
I would prefer my chef in the kitchen and really think that good food with good skill (which includes the chef's spoon to taste for over salted reductions) should be enough and is what I pay for.
A question..the new Marcat de St Antoni ho longer houses the counter restaurant that was in the tents? There was another one as well.
That saddens me, as it was a fun place for a coffee and whatever although pretty pedestrian. On the other hand, the shop owners were all worried that it could turn into another Boqueria. Perhaps it won't. Unfortunately I had to return to Berlin two weeks before it opened.
