About Foodie in Barcelona
I’m not a greedy person but I am a curious person. “Curious about food, culture and what other people put in their mouth” as my blog says.
I write about where to eat in Barcelona.
For me, eating out is the best way to get to know a city. I often go alone. I peek into the kitchen, I eavesdrop on the servers’ conversations, and I watch the people eating around me. I feel my way along the afternoon until I pick up the faint pulse of a narrative.
And the food of course! I like to eat. (Quality not quantity). I like to contemplate a plate of food: flavour, composition, and seasonality are all clues to the eventual story that I will relate to you.
My Background…
I studied Art History in Paris and went on to get an MA in Marketing in London .
In my thirties, I re-trained as a chef at Leiths School of Food and Wine. I worked in various kitchens in London. It was during this stint that I learned what a hard graft people in the food industry have.
Despite the challenging aspects of working with food, I was hooked. It’s been my portal into exploring Barcelona.
About Foodie in Barcelona…
I try to eat at a range of places: low, middle and high end.
This is a personal blog. It illustrates my likes and dislikes – it is an entirely subjective thing so you may find your taste is entirely different from mine.
I pay for my own meals. If I do accept an invitation for lunch – this will be clearly marked at the bottom of the blog post.
There are no hidden advertorials on my blog.
Lastly – if you have a favourite place you think I should visit send me an email at info(at)foodieinbarcelona.com
