Top 10 Places to Eat in Sitges (Updated 2022)

Mosquitos in my Top 10 Places to Eat in Sitges

Top 10 Places to Eat in Sitges Sitges is a destination for many as the mercury rises, humidity eagerly snapping at its heels. A 40-minute car or train ride away from Barcelona. Once a fishing village. The modest days of Sitges are long gone. Instead, you will find a picturesque town with more than its fair share of villas. The beaches fill up early and the restaurants struggle to keep up with the mob of people.

It can feel overwhelming to select a place to eat. My friend Miriam Burke who is one half of a local luxury villa rental business: Utopia Villas has done the hard work and compiled a useful list: utopia-villas.com/sitges-restaurants-and-bars

Dolce Sitges in my Top 10 Places to Eat in SitgesMy top 10 places to eat in Sitges are:

Big Al’s American Kitchen
If you fancy a juicy burger, in a soft bun with a side of curly fries – look no further. Plenty of seating, and good service. It will hit the spot.
C/ de Fransesc Gumà, 21
www.bigals.cat

Can Laury
A table in the sunshine overlooking the bobbing boats in the port feels like you are living the life. A seafood restaurant. My favourite dish here is the tiny tallarines – a small clam.
Passeig del Port d’Aiguadolç 49

Watermelon cocktail at Dolce Hotel SitgesDolce Hotel
Part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Dolce is perched atop Sitges, overlooking a manicured golf course. The terrace restaurant next to one of the 4 pools is good for eating with a view.
Avinguda Camí de Miralpeix, 12

Dosa Nova
A small, vegan, organic restaurant run by a dedicated couple that specializes in South Indian food. Dosa’s in particular (a large crepe made from fermented batter). Everything here is made and sourced with care.
Carrer de Santa Tecla 5
dosanova.es

El Cable
At El Cable, patrons are to be found spilling out onto the streets. The popularity of this old tapas restaurant shows no signs of waning. A bustling, fun spot.
C/ Barcelona, 1

Nem
Nem is run by 2 chefs, one local and one British. They make small plates for sharing and take inspiration from around the world. Their desserts are out of this world. Order at least two!
C/ Illa de Cuba, 9
www.nemsitges.com

La Incidencia del Factor Vi
A good wine list. Lots of splurts and squirts of sauce on the plate combined with architectural plating. They are trying to do something different here and have a good following from locals.
C/ Bonaire, 25

La Punta
A tapas restaurant run by Kim and Sebastien. Tasty bites in a homey space. Usually busy despite being off the beaten track. There is a small terrace at the back that is charming.
Sant Damià 14
www.lapuntasitges.com

L’Avinyet
A small place, almost a hallway that goes through to a pretty blue terrace at the back. They have a good menu del dia that runs through the week and it’s a solid choice for Spanish tapas and drinks with friends in the heart of Sitges.
Carrer Jesus 12
lavinyetsitges.com

Fig and chicken paella at La Zorra in SitgesLa Zorra
Rice dishes by the sea on a pretty terrace. Zorra is Arroz spelt backwards and as you would expect this is a paella restaurant. Best for lunch and essential to book in advance.
Passeig Marítim No 1-3
facebook.com/lazorra.sitges.restaurante

Moreno Major 17
Plates of ham, broken eggs on top of a generous serving of potatoes or a selection of cheese. Moreno is the place to go if you good Spanish ingredients with minimal fuss. Its location high up on Carrer Major, makes for the best kind of people watching while sipping your cava.
Carrer Major, 17

📍Batea Barcelona — Gran Via, 605 Michelin 202 📍Batea Barcelona — Gran Via, 605
Michelin 2025 recommended and absolutely deserved.

Between the Betanzos tortilla drowning in prawn head jus and the delicately plated ceviche, Batea balances tradition with a polished, confident creativity. It’s seafood-forward but far from predictable.

Highlights:
🦐 Tortilla with prawns
🥒 Flawless ceviche
🥖 Bread + algae butter = don’t skip it
🌿 Falafel of algae & bluefin tuna (!)

Their design nods to the nostalgic brasseries of old, but this is very much Barcelona now. Grab a table. Order generously.

Contracorrent Bistró has a new (ish) spot in Grà Contracorrent Bistró has a new (ish) spot in Gràcia. A melding of Catalan and Italian flavours and a focus on ingredients. As highlighted by the row of vines from the family estate that are suspended from the ceiling.
The choice is between two tasting menus. Of course my friend and I selected the largest one!
A flurry of small plates and bowls ensued. Just the way I like it, lots of variety but I didn’t have to waddle out of there.
The warm and knowledgeable service was the cherry on top.

I feel like the one coffee shop per block thing ha I feel like the one coffee shop per block thing has been done ad nauseam - instead I would like to petition for one cheese shop per block. Found this darling one on the corner from one of my favourite restaurants.
What about you? Do you think we have reached peak coffee shop saturation in the city?

Something for the weekend @tangana_restaurant beca Something for the weekend @tangana_restaurant because it’s chef led, with good chairs and just the right feeling. Gilda - yes. And the Mitake mushroom but with way more colour then this picture - I hadn’t realized that apricot panna cotta is what’s missing from my life - (not pictured because the best moments often aren’t captured.)
