My audio tour: A Culinary Tour of El Born, is ready to download from the Voice Map website. Voicemap is a clever platform that uses Geotagging and connects with local journalists or storytellers who want to share their stories.
Unsurprisingly, my story is about food. I take my listeners on a 40-minute (2km) journey through El Born and finish in the Gothic Quarter. Along the way, I tell you details and tidbits about the shops, restaurants, and bars we pass. When it’s relevant, I link it into general Catalan history and gastronomy.
The tour is $3.99. You download it and can then listen to it offline. Through the magic that is geotagging, the relevant stories will start playing when you are in the radius of the shop or bar. There is a map but you are guided by me telling you when it’s a right or when you continue walking.
The tour is aimed at visitors of the city with a penchant for gastronomy placed within a cultural context. Having said that, my friend Sarah took the tour, a seasoned tour guide herself and had positive feedback.
I hope you like it. And yes I die a little of embarrassment every time I hear my voice but to grow we all have to go towards our fears rather than away from them.

Going to Barcelona as a family (kids 9&11) over US Thanksgiving. Would this be good? Or do you recommend other tours or things to do? Thanks!

Hi, well this is an audio tour. You could all do it of course.
There are great tours around Barcelona you can take as a family. Just search tours on my blog and they will come up.
